From the start, our clients described their design aesthetic as ‘approachable modern’. They envisioned a clean, uncluttered home that felt functional, yet comfortable and lived in. Frequent hosts, it was important that guests felt comfortable in every corner of the space.
The goal was the optimize the floor plan, improve the distribution of natural light in the main living area, and furnish the apartment in a warm, modern and comfortable way conducive to entertaining. By removing the main wall between the sitting room and den, and replacing it with custom arched oak pocket doors, we transformed the living space while introducing an impressive architectural focal point. An underutilized area off the entry hall was enclosed with a custom glass partition to create a moody home office. The clients were open to warmer, richer tones which paired well with the loft like spaces and light oak floors. Most of the furnishings are custom or vintage which aligned with their aesthetic and vision.
The client/designer relationship was exceptional, they trusted the process, valued our expertise, allowed the proper time for thoughtful planning, and appreciated the craftsmanship and unexpected details which allowed the journey to feel effortless and enjoyable!
