Joan Enger, Principal

Founded and led by principal Joan Enger since 2005, the firm takes a comprehensive approach to residential design, collaborating on a wide range of projects with a passion for historic homes. The practice is celebrated for its focus on custom millwork and architectural detailing, intentionally layered with a curated mix of furnishings, art, and accessories.

Joan’s career began in luxury branding, working with Estee Lauder, Godiva, and Ralph Lauren Home, before leaving the corporate world to pursue her passion for interior design at NYSID. She honed her skills at a boutique NYC residential firm before founding her own practice. Her lifelong interest in art, antiques, and travel naturally informs her aesthetic.

Her interiors are defined by a layered mix of materials, finishes, and textures, blending history and architecture with new elements that allow her spaces to feel warm and timeless. Joan gravitates toward vintage and bespoke, alongside finishes with patina, creating interiors that are personal, functional, and beautiful. Original art and carefully sourced collectibles are central to her practice.

With a lifelong passion for vintage, Joan will be opening ‘Galleri’ in 2026, a standalone shop that will showcase her signature aesthetic.

Amanda Trochim, Lead Senior Designer

Having a natural knack for space planning and hand sketching from a young age, Amanda had a hunch early on that a design path would eventually find her calling. A graduate from Rochester Institute of Technology with a degree in Interior Design, Amanda joined the JP&Co team in February of 2016 after working for a NYC interiors firm. Her innate sense of style, impeccable drafting skills, and dedicated work ethic have proved to be invaluable and have elevated her to partner status within the firm.

Amanda favors the architectural aspect of design and is drawn to the Scandinavian aesthetic. She believes that it is more than just decorating; good design is a fine balance between art and function. She has a passion for all things design and a special appreciation for art and pottery. Outside of the office, Amanda enjoys museum hopping, hiking, brunching with her husband and friends, and dreaming of her next trip to Paris.
